Title: Design, Synthesis and Evaluation of Quinazolinone Natural Products -Templated Library for Antifungal and Anthelminth Activity

Abstract: A focused pyrrolo and pyrido quinazolinone natural products-templated library was designed and synthesized via two novel synthetic approaches i.e., aza-Nazarov and Dieckmann cyclization. Compounds from this privileged NP-templated library were screened against fungus and Nematodes. Leads have been identified with anti-fungal and anti-helminth activities. These compounds would serve as leads for further optimizations to improve the pharmacokinetic and activity profiles through further modifications. Overall, the selected examples from our ongoing efforts in NP inspired Synthetic and Medchem efforts point to a fruitful future through a collaborative approach in and around UMass System! The details of synthesis and screening will be shared in this team presentation.
